Taking a cue from B and B....

Ready to get our hike on.

Our navigator.
Beermaker and Breadmaker take all of these great hikes, so we can't let them have all of the fun. Although Casper doesn't offer any scenes quite as beautiful as those around Meeteetse, we have found a perfect place to bring Jason and the dogs for the day, Muddy Mountain. People always utilize the cross country ski area here, but almost no one makes it to Muddy Mountain. Usually you will only see one or two people on horses and a few cows. The trails are nice so that Jason can walk (if he wants to) and there are picnic tables where we park so that we can have a sit down lunch.

The Moody Men hiding from me.

This is a lot different than Colin and I used to hike on our own, but we have had to make adjustments so that Jason can enjoy one of our favorite pass times in a hands on fashion. We will take him on longer hikes and walks in the backpack, but it is always nice for him to be able to be a big boy and do it on his own. That is why Muddy Mountain has been a great find for us. It is only 20 minutes from our house too. That is even better since Jason hates to ride in the car.

Grooving to the music......... there was no music, he made his own.

Taking a break.
We always try to make the most of our weekends together so a day outside was perfect. The weather was incredible and Jason loves to pick up rocks and tell us about them. It looks like there might be a geologist in the making in our family. I must say that this rock observation make a standard 10 minute hike into a whole hour, but Jason has a blast doing it and I think Colin gets a kick out of it too.

A look from Jason's point of view.

The only wildlife we saw... two turkeys.

Good things always have to come to an end so Saturday evening we headed home to get back to all of our chores around the house. Sunday, Colin and Jason did some painting too. Once again Jason made a big me, but the fun is always worth it. Hope everyone else had a great weekend. Have a wonderful week as well.
