Hello Fall !!!

The boys hanging out in the dog house that the dogs won't even go in.
Our crop.

Another angle... we are very excited.

It looks like the big freeze will be here in the next couple of days so we have started preparations. Despite the hail our pumpkin/spaghetti squash crop was wonderful. Tomorrow we will pick up all of the outdoor toys and put them in plastic bins. I sure love fall and Jason is excited to catch snow flakes on his tongue. Friday the boys will be in the homecoming parade and then we are off to my uncle's wedding. It should be an exciting rest of the week. Hope all of you enjoy the change in weather as much as we do. Take care and stay warm........

Hello again.... I have got to get more consistant on my posts.... In fact, my blog might be going through a transformation. It might start to include some recipe ideas for the week. So, be looking for that.

The last week has been full of all kinds of fun. I planned on posting pics earlier, but decided to sew with my new machine instead. It is amazing and makes sewing even more fun.

Jakes quilt will be finished soon. It is a good thing since he will be moving up to a big boy bed in a few weeks.... WOW!! Time is going by so fast. A week from tomorrow Jake will be 18 months old. It doesn't even seem possible. He also has started to ask to sit on the toilet... he pretend potties and gets down to wash his hands... Very funny.

Jason loves preschool more than I can even describe. He he has made many friends and wishes he could go to the Kiddie Kollege every day. This Friday he gets to ride on a homecoming float. The kids are decorating their own shirts for the big day and Jason is pumped.

The weather is finally staying cool enough for us to spend most of our time outside. It kind of cuts into my sewing time, but we sure get a lot of playing in. Our walks are back on schedule and they are getting longer with the cool air. Our pumpkins are picked and ready for decorating... I will post pics of them later this week. Despite our hail issues and frost, we had a fairly successful year. I am already planning my garden for next year.... Canning has been great so far and I have started dehydrating a lot of fruit for snacks.... the boys prefer apple chips.

I hope everyone is doing well. Enjoy the pics and I will return with recipes and more stories...

I'm back

Hello again. It has been a little while since I have posted, but things have been crazy. I have been quilting like crazy, enjoying the last warm week of the summer, Jason started school, story time started, then to top it off we all got sick. Now we are in recovery mode and today I am going to make some stew and cinnamon rolls today. There is nothing better for recovering from a cold. I will post pictures of our adventures this week. They will include pictures of our new creation... Lester. Lester is out scare deer. He is sitting on our front porch and doing his job. I will do my best to share pics soon... now off to the grocery store to pick up yeast.

GO POKES!!!!

There are no small games.... There is only WYOMING FOOTBALL!!!! Wyoming is known for surprising fans. They win some of the biggest games even when they aren't expected to do so. Today against Texas they are showing some great skills. The first quarter is over and they are proving once again that they can do it. We might be behind, but we believe and they are already beating expectations of many. Anything can happen. GO POKES!!!

Quilt

I haven't washed it yet, but here are some pics pre-wash... it will look different and won't have all of the random threads all over... but you get the idea. I was too excited to wait to post pics.... I free handed Steamboat and sewed him on by hand. Overall this quilt has been a great experience. I learned a lot and there are a lot of mistakes, but I am pleased with my first go of it. Have a great week.

A fun weekend

I wanted to share some pics that I printed and hung on our wall. I hope you enjoy.

The long weekend was full of rest and fun. Friday night mom and dad took the kids. They played with their cousins and Saturday morning watched the mountain race which their cousin Lane and Aunt Jennifer and Uncle Dave ran in.

That night we continued our pinochle tourny and returned home to a surprise. I heared a loud hiss and surprise there was a cat under our bed. It had came in through the dog door, went past our dogs and got under our bed..... how horrible is that? Anyway.... Colin and I managed to get the thing outside and we hope that it never happens again.

Saturday we decided to float the river............... it took 3.5 hours. A deer crossed the river in front of us and we saw an endless number of bees. It was a great time. Colin and I have never done anything like that just the two of us and I think we liked it enough we will do it again. After the river trip we headed the M-town to enjoy a bbq at mom and dads, visit and pick up the kiddos. It was so nice to see everyone, but we were tired and excited to bring the boys home.

We didn't accomplish much Sunday but we did play a lot. Jason so very tired. That poor boy couldn't even function. Jacob never showed any sign of getting too tired, he just keeps on going. I worked on Jason's quilt too. As of today, all I need to do is finish sewing Steamboat and then we are off to wash it. It is awesome. I will share pics after I wash it.

Monday we started not knowing what to do and then we got a call. A friend of ours got an antelope and we were off to help butcher. Jason was so tired that he couldn't do it so I had to bring him home right away and he slept 14 hours that night. Colin assisted until the animal was cleaned down to the bone. Since everyone was sick of meat by the time they finished, I made a vegetarian dinner. Then it was time to play some pinochle again...... The Dream Team is making a comeback after falling behind.

The next morning Jason went to yet another day of preschool. He was well rested and ready to go. He just loves going. Jake and I had a mission while Jason was at school. We were on the hunt for a preasure cooker. It wasn't long and we had success. Next weekend I just might get my can on...... I can't wait. Hopefully we can get more apples. I would love to make apple butter. Last night I tried to make homemade chicken nuggets and I have to admit... THEY WERE YUMMY!!! That will be a recipe that we use a lot from now on.

Today the boys have a play date and we are ready.. I will finish up the quilt and have it ready to wash tomorrow. Tonight I am going to make some homemade pizza too. We are gearing up for another wonderful day.

I hope all of you are having a lovely week. Take care and we will talk to you soon.

School update

Jason was very excited to go to school for the second time this morning. He was so excited that when he got there he ran up to Miss Bethany... didn't even say goodbye and said.... I have been waiting for this day!!! And I left. He loves his class and looks forward to it every day.... I call that a win in our book. Jake and I enjoyed a nice walk with the dogs and now we get to play for another hour. Have a great Labor Day weekend everyone.....

Jason's First Day!!!

I will begin this post with a pic from Saturday. The boys wanted to play in the sprinkler and Jason wanted to do so in his undies..... great pics!!!

As parents we know that our goals have to include helping our children to grow and be successful. This week it was obvious that our kiddos are growing up. Jason went to his first day of Preschool on Tuesday and he loved every second of it. It was a little difficult for Jakie and I to get used to, but it is so nice to see Jason having so much fun. Jake and I will be trying to come up with adventures for just the two of us to enjoy on Tuesdays and Thursdays from now on. Here are some pics from Jason's first day of school.

This is Jason and Jake when they woke up Tuesday morning.....

Jason standing by his school supplies

Jason standing in front of the Truck area at the preschool.... he loves the toys

A look at the classroom... Jason was so excited to see his friends.

At school Jason got to play a lot. They made art projects, got to know each other, went over rules, and went to the park. He really enjoys school and can't wait for Thursday. I did forget to pack a snack and I am pretty sure I won't live that one down. That mistake won't be repeated either. Snacks will be priority number one from now on.

To view the rest of the pictures from the last week click HERE!!! Now we are on to getting used to our new schedule. My kiddos are growing up so I am going to enjoy them as much as I can before they grow up too much.
