A whole new way to eat

The last week has been full of fun. Jason and Jake are enjoying the beautiful weather again... we were getting cabin fever with all of the rain. This weekend has been so much fun. Yesterday we started the day by going swimming. Jason loved going down the slide. He went down so many times that we lost count.... Jake was very tired and had a difficult time enjoying the experience, but the warm water made him relax just enough to close his eyes and snuggle with me. It was a lot of fun. We also took some great pictures of the high water in the area.. it is impressive. After we got home it was time for a game of bad mitten... I won.

Click on this picture... that is the boat dock at the state park and those rocks are surrounding what is usually a parking lot.

My men
Today was a great day... FATHERS DAY!!! We celebrated by hitting some golf balls, a blast. After returning home for naps and food we went out to look for fish scale fossils... FUN!!! Moe ran away once and Colin got his chase on. We found some fossils and got to dig in a lot of dirt... Jake ate a lot of dirt. Jason found his first antler... He is very proud of it. When we got home the boys jumped into the kiddie pool before we could say anything... the pictures tell the story.

The great golf adventure
I had to post this because it was so cute

Jason's first antler
The boys jumped into the pool while we unloaded the pickup
They were cold with their clothes on... we put them in the bath shortly after this
Have a great week!!!

More Stories

As always, the boys are full of funny. There is not one day that goes by where they don't come up with something crazy or do something wild. The last few days have been no exception.

Last night we were watching Mythbusters when Jason noticed that Adam and Jamie wear glasses too. He turned to Colin and said "Look, the Mythbusters wear glasses too.... I am going to be a Mythbuster some day." It is so cool that he picks up on things like that.

By late afternoon the boys wouldn't stop crying... The tired boys were just so tired that they couldn't function anymore... Thank goodness they had a great nights sleep and so did we.

This morning we woke rested and relaxed. I was feeling pretty good about everything, getting a cup of coffee and I have to admit I was getting a big head. Just then... Jason runs into the kitchen yelling... "JAKES IN THE TOILET!!!" He was not kidding. Jake was elbow deep in the toilet. I freaked... washed his hands, germ-xed, washed his hands again, germ-xed........ you get the idea. I used most of the soap we had and the germ-x. I will need to replenish our supply.

Our day is still going well. Although, Colin suggested we power wash Jacob. Not a bad idea. Since it is another dreary day, we will get our bake on. I think cookies and bread is on the list for today. Jake will not be touching anything that could be consumed though.

Have a great day everyone. I have a lot of pictures to post and i will get to it this weekend. Enjoy!!!

Home sweet home

Since we have moved to Thermopolis we have felt so welcome and are always impressed by how well we fit in. In our new house we feel even stronger about this. As always we are staying busy.

Friday night we opted out on the events since we had a wedding reception to attend on Saturday. Some of our new friends got married a month ago so we had to celebrate the occasion. There were a lot of kids there so the boys had a blast. Jason was so tired he asked to go to bed when we were still at the party. It was cute. Jacob ran and ran until he couldn't go anymore.

Sunday was another wild day. We started our morning with a walk down to the state park. It was a good thing we went in the morning because shortly after we got home the tornado sirens started to ring through town. A tornado passed just north of town, but we were spared. It was very surreal. After the storm passed it was back to playing. As I was helping Jason learn to ride his bike some neighbors came by and asked us to come over and visit. We had a wonderful time and have a great group of neighbors. They are very nice and a lot of fun. I really didn't think places like this existed anymore. There will be many block parties in our near future.

To top off settling into our new home, Colin will hit his one year mark at his job tomorrow. I can't believe how fast this last year has went. It is amazing that June 16th of last year we were making a huge change. Now we are settled in and feel completely at home. Congratulations Colin on this milestone. We are so proud of you and thankful for all of those great gifts in life.

Have a great week everyone...........

cute cute

Our boys are always doing cute things... there are just too many to report on. If is is Jake dancing at the softball game or Jason telling one of his many jokes, we are laughing.

I will start with a few things about Jacob. He is really figuring out who he is. His favorite words include: Dog, Mama, Dad, No, Me (milk), Ba (bath), and No again.... He loves to say NO!!!! Jake will come up to me point his finger and tell me no. This doesn't fly and he gets in trouble. I wish all of you could see how much he has changed. If it is running, yelling, laughing or just copying something his big brother is doing.... that little man is changing and adding new skills to his toolbox every day.

As for Jason, he is our joke man. An oldie but a goodie is: Why did the chicken cross the road? To turn into a goat!!! I think this one is so good, not because of the words, but the way Jason tells it. A new joke: Why did the chicken cross the playground? To get to the other slide!!! This one will go down as a classic. We don't know where he learned it, but it is good. Jason is really figuring things out. He is very clever and quick with his mind. Like his great Grandpa Scott, he loves to tell a joke. They even have the same style.... Those of you that know grandpa know exactly what I am talking about. Jason has such a huge heart too. He loves to make people laugh and smile. Sad things make him cry, yet he wants to be the tough guy. It is so cute.

I wish there was another way to share how much the boys have changed. I am really proud of our boys and would love for the world to know how great they really are.

I will leave you all with something Jason told me this morning (Jake was standing next to him mimicing him).

Jason: "The polar bear should go to bed."
Me: "Why is that Jason?"
Jason: "It needs to be warm again."
Me: "How can the polar bear going to bed make it warm?"
Jason: "Don't you know? The polar bear makes it winter and when he goes to bed it gets warm. Did you know he lives in the polar bear mountains?"
Me: "That is good to know."

We have these conversations every day..... It is great entertainment. I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. Take care and I will have more to share next week.

Fan and fun

The boys love sitting together.
Last weekend was our first "project weekend" at our new house. Friday night the boys went with my parents and we made the attic fan frame and planned out our electrical work. Saturday morning proved that things don't always go as planned. It turns out we were going to have to hook the ceiling fan up to a 4 way switch..... not good. This is much more complicated than we had planned for. After a lot of needless work and head scratching mom and dad showed up with the kids. Dad and Colin worked and worked, thought and thought and finally came up with a plan. Sunday morning they finished up the long, difficult project and now we have an attic fan and a ceiling fan and light in our livingroom. It looks great. Thank you Colin and Dad for all of your hard work. Thank you Mom for watching the kids and visiting. I don't think Colin will be entering the attic any time in the near future either.... I hope all of you had a great weekend and that the rain isn't too much of an inconvinience. Take care and we will have more pictures soon.....

The beautiful ceiling fan.

More play.

The good stuff

Some days things can build up and get frustrating, but all I have to do is listen for those little giggles and look into the eyes of my little ones and all is right with the world. I have to say I am the luckiest lady in the world to have my sweet boys.

There isn't much new with us, we are just loving life and trying to play as much as we can. Moving was very exhausting, but now we are enjoying our time. I will post pics this week. Have a great week everyone!
