Our house

I will start this blog with some pics of the boys.

Jason is already Jake's hero.

Helping dad.

Colin and I seem to go through these phases where we are disconnected from the rest of the world. I apologize yet again for these occurrences. We have been working so hard on the house trying to get things done. It looks great and we sure do love it. The house has become our little retreat from the world around us. It is almost as if it is part of us since we have put so much of ourselves into it. I know it is a possession and it is sick to look at material objects like that, but we do love our house. So, I think it is about time I give you a bit of a tour. It isn't complete yet, but I will post more over time. This is just the area of the house we live in. The basement is unfinished and full of our stuff that really should be in storage. It is a walk out basement though and goes out to a patio and a huge yard. We also have a one car garage that is sooooo full of stuff, we are taking most of it to the dump tomorrow. It will be another busy weekend for us. Anyway, enjoy the video tour and try not to listen to my goofy commentary...............

Big Weekend

WOW!!! It has been a busy few days. As I last reported we had an opportunity for a plane ride. We had Jason all excited for it. Ben sent a text saying he was 20 min out and we were off to the airport. Jason was pumped. We got there and went out to the airplane when a big FedEx plane took off.... SUPER LOUD!!! Jason freaked and changed his attitude completely. He began to cry and wouldn't even sit in the cockpit. BUMMER DUDE!!! When we asked him if he wanted a ride, he replied... I don't think so.... It was kind of funny. So, we didn't let that ruin our fun. Colin went up first. Ben and his friend Brandon took him on a really great ride. It was clear skies and beautiful out. They did some Zero gravity stuff even.... It was a blast. Then it was my turn and they did the same for me.... While we were up we got to watch the sun set... Casper sure is a lot prettier from above. After the fun, we all went to dinner and caught up on the last 5 years.... It was a good time and we can't wait to see Ben again...... By the way, for those of you that know him... he hasn't changed a bit.... He is still so much fun and always has a joke... You know what I mean.

Colin going up and looking back at us... Jason is still crying.

Zero gravity... watch the map.
Macho Ben.....

Notice the crying little man.

Brandon, Ben and Colin ready for flight.

The next day it was time to work on painting. We had the second coat and trim. It was sooooo hot. We finished the second coat and saved the trim for Sunday. Saturday night our friends Dan, Maddie, Brady and Karen came over. It was nice to see them and have a little bbq and relax. We needed it since Sunday the painting marathon continued. That is what we did all day Sunday. But today the boys and I think we can finish. There are only 3 windows and 2 doors left. We are sooooo close. Then it is on to the repair work on the lawn from Moe Damage... Beagles are crazy diggers. I hope all of you had a great weekend. I will have more updates soon... Jake has an appt tomorrow so we will know how much the little Buddha weighs. Take care and enjoy your week.............

Keeping cool in the sprinkler... it is 7:30am.

An over heated Buddha boy.... he was soooo hot.

Look how high Jacob can hold his head.

He is working on his commercial pilots licence and is coming into town tonight. Colin and Jason are going up with him. It should be a really good time. I will take a ton of pics and post them when we take a break from painting the house this weekend. Have a great weekend everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

Smiling

The Moody brothers.

There is so much to smile about here. The pictures speak for themselves. We couldn't be having more fun. Last weekend we took our first trip for quite some time..... it was the first time I have been out of Casper since Christmas. I must say it was a needed day. We went to Laramie to see my cousin Savanna graduate from college with a chemical engineering degree. I wish I had pics, but I didn't have my camera. I will post some when my mom and dad e-mail them to me. Anyway, it was a good trip. Mom, Dad, Colin, the boys and I crammed into a car and drove down avoiding closed roads and making it in enough time to eat before the ceremony. It was so cool to see Sas walk across that stage. We also realized that she was the only socially capable person that was on the stage. It was pretty funny. But, not much else new here, the boys keep us busy. This weekend the weather is supposed be nice so Colin and I are going to attempt to finish painting the outside of the house... keeping our fingers crossed that the two young men allow that to happen. I hope all of you enjoy the pics. Congrats Sas!!! And I will have more pics soon.........

Weather

Just wanted to let everyone that heared about the tornado here in Casper know that all is well here. I watched it form as the clouds passed over our house. When I looked up you could see a distinct outer wall and a hollow center.... pretty crazy. Just as I tried to take video and pictures my camera died. Then the hail began to fall..... quarter to golf ball sized..... I saved a chunk in the freezer. It dented a neighbors pickup, but our car was in the garage. The tornado passed our house and touched down east of us.... THANK GOD!!!! I hope all of you are having better spring weather.... till next time.

Life is good

You might be wondering.... What are those Moody's up to? Well, probably not, but I am sure all of you would like to see more pics of our growing boys. Here are some pics and I have to say.... we can't take a break. Most families would see a nice day and think... lets go for a hike or something like that. We must have a problem because we think, lets paint the house. Renovating a house is an addiction. We have that bug in a bad bad way. So, another project has begun. Hopefully we will get another nice weekend so that we can finish. I try to get out and work on it as much as possible, but between showers and the wild men in my house, it is very difficult to get much done. I will post pics of the finished product when that happens. But, Colin's parents came down last weekend to lend a hand and we were able to finish the first layer.... but we need to go over it one more time. It should go fast when we get the chance. Jake is growing up so fast. He is getting bigger by the second and has started to smile. Jason is a pro at making him smile and is so very proud of that. I love how he coos and grunts all of the time. Jason is still doing very well with Jacob. He did get a little jealous over some toys that are Jake's. He freaked out and started saying toy not Dake's (not misspelled, it is how Jason says his name.)... it Jason's, it Jason's.... needless to say, the break down wasn't fun, but it was short lived... THANK GOODNESS. Overall things are going very well. We are enjoying the spring weather and spending as much time outside as possible. I hope all is well with everyone else out there. I hope you enjoy the pictures and I should have more soon. Till next time.......

Thankfull

The last week has really made us appreciate everything we have. We are healthy, we have each other and most of all we are alive. With the sudden loss of a friend/neighbor and the wonderful opportunity of spending every day with my kiddos I know that I am so very fortunate. Sure, we may live in a town that we don't necessarily love, but we have each other. We also have wonderful friends and family. This week hasn't been the easiest, but I am counting my lucky stars. I had the opportunity to know someone for what may have been a short period of time in scale, but I am so very thankful for that little bit of time. It is amazing how one person can have such an impact on another in a short period of time (only 1 year).

When one small part of the world changes so much..... the rest seems to be the same. Sometimes it is hard to remember that when it is your world that is changing so. Our world has changed a ton in such a short period of time. We are kind of in this state of isolation and I apologize for that. I haven't been posting pictures as much or contacting people as often. Heck, I don't answer my phone very much anymore. I will get better about that.

But, there have been so many wonderful things happen in our little world in the last month too. We have two amazing kiddos and Colin's hard work is finally paying off. The loss of a neighbor and the birth of a son, really makes a person realize that life has those two parts, birth and death. We just have to make the middle count. So, we are here enjoying our moments....... playing, remodeling, and laughing as much as possible..... there is a little bit of sleep in there too, at times anyway.

I realize that this blog is kind of a public diary for me. I never kept a diary before, but it is nice to be able to write about what is going on. There are times that I am not clear, this is one of them I am sure. I know this is kind of a random post, but things have been a little random recently. If you get anything from this one, please remember that no matter where you live or the bad things that happen in your life, there are so many more things that are good and perfect and pure. The trick is to focus on those good things. My family and friends are my pillar now. I am sorry that I am not posting any pics today, but I couldn't get it to work. The boys are both growing up so fast... you won't believe it. Jake has more rolls too. He is going to be a big boy just like Jason. Have a wonderful weekend and keep on thinking positive.... till next time.
