Clues......

The rainbow after the storm. If you look closely, you can see part of a second.

In the last week the mornings have seemed crisp and there is a different smell in the air. Up until last weekend we didn't have a fly problem in our house either........... then they came in like gang busters. We now have a fly infestation. Then last night a rain storm came through (we were spared the bad part that Douglas received) and our power went out for the 3rd time this month. It didn't go out for a few minutes, but for over 3 hours. This gave us time to enjoy a few books by candle light (thanks for the candle holders Maggie...... they get used a lot around here), and to watch the rain fall. During this storm is when I noticed another clue. We have 3 yellow leaves on our tree in the front yard. Then we looked at the other trees in the neighborhood and YES there were some yellow leaves there too. Today our high is supposed to be 69, a huge contrast to the 90+ degree weather we saw last week. So, maybe the flies know something we don't know. It seems as though the clues are all pointing to fall. We might have a few hot days between now and then, but even these few breaks show me that cooler weather and beautiful, beautiful snow is headed our way. Hang in there Maggie, you will be skiing before you know it. For those of you that are wondering why I said that we were spared, unlike Douglas...... Evidently they received golf ball to tennis ball sized hail that caused a lot of damage last night. One of Colin's co-workers said it was a mess and left dents all over the company pickup....... So, once again I would like to express how happy I am that we didn't get that kind of hail, just the little pebble kind.

The one good thing about summer, my flowers.

Goodbye Summer and Hello Fall!!!!!
