Outdoor fun

March came in with beautiful weather. We have been out enjoying it as much as possible. There really is nothing quite as wonderful as seeing our little men running around with huge smiles on their faces. The nice weather has melted a lot of the snow and has allowed us to venture up Monument Hill again. The dogs love that little hike and the boys do too. In fact Jason and Jacob walked up on their own this last time. They did such a wonderful job.

With the outdoor fun we had there were some days when the wind was too wild or it was a little stormy so we found sanctuary indoors. Usually we make the boys run laps in the basement or do pushups to exhaust themselves but we found another great alternative. We start out with some Lego and Lincoln log action, move on to coloring and decorating popcorn bags, make homemade pizza, transform the basement into a movie theater and enjoy a night at the movies under our own roof.

All in all spring is here and we are loving it. Our plants for the garden are ordered. The birds are chirping. It is just beautiful. I hope all of you are doing well too. Enjoy!

Flying through February

WOW!!! I can't believe March is already here. February was full of so much fun that it went by with a blink of my eyes. I don't want to leave you all hanging so here is a quick update of all of the happenings of the 2nd month of 2011.

We started the month celebrating my 28th birthday. To celebrate we had a family dinner complete with cake and ice cream. Sorry, I don't have any pictures to document the occasion. It was fun though.

Right around the same time that I turned a year older I started a Zumba class. Oh my is it fun. It is so far out of my comfort zone, but I really do enjoy it. This is something that I suggest everyone try. No need to worry that you will look funny while you shake your groove thing... everyone, excluding the instructor, looks goofy. Nothing can stop the fun though. So, if you have the opportunity, GO FOR IT!!!!

In the middle of February Colin left the state to attend NAPE in Houston. It was a great experience. There is nothing better than making contacts and learning more about what is out there.

When Colin returned home he celebrated a big milestone. HE TURNED 30!!!! It is difficult to believe that he is already 30. We had such a great time. Our families came here and we had a wonderful taco lunch. Our friends celebrated with us too. It was a great celebration.

The boys had a pretty layed back February. Jason had a spectacular month in school. He learns so much every day. This last month he has even started to sound out words. Reading is just around the corner for him. Jake is doing great too. He is working so hard at this potty training thing. It won't be long and it won't be a second thought. He has his eye on the prize (preschool in the fall).

March really did take us by surprise. We just didn't see it coming. With all of my babysitting and the kids' crazy schedules we just overlooked it's approach. Just because it has taken us by surprise it doesn't mean that it hasn't been wonderful. Jason even started Smart Start Basketball. He goes once a week with his dad and works on basic basketball skills. It is an amazing experience for him and Colin. When they are at basketball, Jacob and I get some quality fun time in. Sometimes that is just an hour of playing catch with Elmo.... Always a good time.

This month has been full of more Zumba, babysitting, lots of school for Jason, work for Colin, playdates for Jacob, and that is just the tip of the iceberg. It has really hit us that the boys are growing up fast. We will sign Jason up for Kindergarten this month and Jake will be signed up for Preschool at the beginning of next month. Our wild men never cease to amaze us. They are such great people and we couldn't be more proud.

I hope this transition into spring it treating all of you well. Take care of yourselves and enjoy this beautiful weather.
ENJOY!!!

January fun

January has come in with a bang... It has been full of hunting and getting back into the swing of things after our long Christmas break. Here are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks.

The boys recieved a very cool gift from Colin's cousin Megan. She made them dinosaurs!!! Jason named his Terri and Jake named his Rexy (they got their creative name giving skills from Colin and I). They love these new stuffed dinos so much that they sleep with them every night and even packed them with us on vacation. Pretty cool!! THANKS MEGHAN!!!

January marks the end of the duck season here in Thermopolis. Therefore Colin had to send it off with style. All season he has struggled with a gun misfiring and has been borrowing a friend's. Mom and dad and Jay and Connie went in with me to give Colin a grand birthday/ passing his PG exam gift. We gave him an Xtrema 2. This is his dream gun. If we had waited until his actual birthday he wouldn't have been able to take it out until next fall. So, we gave it to him early. Colin loves his new gun and couldn't have been more excited.

The last weekend of duck season was marked with a big final hunt and a weekend full of Ducks Unlimited fun. While the guys were hunting, things escalated quickly with the ladies and I ended up with red hair. I am thankful to say that it will wash out in 6-8 weeks. Hopefully I can wash it out in less than 4 weeks.

My red hair.
I hope all of you are having a great new year as well. Happy January!!! ENJOY!!!
