Spider Kid!!

Playing on the deck.
I always talk about how wild Jason is. Well with a little help from Colin, he walked on the walls and the ceiling last night. Yes........ that is our Spider Kid!!! All I could think of was the trailer for the Simpson Movie....... Spider Pig, Spider Pig..........

The sport of wall walking (Mae is not a big fan).

After conquering the walls, the next logical place is the ceiling.....

The fun doesn't stop there.................. Jason decided he had to do some computer work this morning. Little did I know that he was going to change my settings. This is the reason that I am writing my blog so late. My space bar opened new pages, my number keys were permanently on caps, and my mouse only selected multiple things at a time. It was a mess and not an easy fix. Especially since my helper wanted to "assist" in the computers treatment. It is cured for now, but I am sure that it won't be the last time my computer gets sick with help from Jason.

On the acquisition news....... It is all wonderful. The new company rocks and appears to be very motivated. It has ignited a new light in Colin. He is very excited and can't wait to see what happens in the future. The new company is Uranium One Inc. Their web site is http://www.uranium1.com/ for those of you that are interested.

Have a wonderful day!

A done deal

Too good for walking........ A ride on Dads shoulders is much more appropriate.
As Friday came to a close we waited for information on the buy out, but none came. The acquisition was completed, but we don't know any details as of now. Hopefully Colin will find something out today. But there was plenty to do to pass the time.

Saturday the weather was mild and beautiful, so we took advantage of it and walked. Jason is of course a man of luxury........... requesting a ride so that he didn't get stickers in his feet. It was perfect. Colin spent the rest of the weekend finishing small things around the house, like puting closet doors in the other two bedrooms.............. They look great and add a lot to a house. The best part is that they hide my messy closets. Oh and they keep Jason out of the markers in the spare room.................... very difficult to get off of the floor.

On Sunday we went for another walk, but were surprised that it was about 10 degrees warmer than the previous day. The antelope are more annoying when it is hotter out. They followed us, making their grunty noises and stomping. Goofy animals......... I live with Jason, like a little grunting is going to scare me. When we got back from the walk Colin mowed the lawn. It looks so good. I can't believe how much it has changed.

You might be wondering, What did I do while Colin was hard at work. Well, I took my place as supervisor this weekend. I forgot how nice that position really is. Jason is a good supervisor too. He points and yells, quite a tool pusher.

I will be posting info on the acquisition soon.............. hopefully. Have a great week everyone!!!!

A project complete!!!

As you know we have been working on Jason's room a lot since we moved to this house. Yesterday we added to two final components, a new bed and closet doors. I have to say it was an interesting go of it. While Jason and I were at Home Depot getting his closet doors, we got the phone call.......... His bed was in and ready for pickup. I could see the excitement in Jason's face (even though he had no clue what was going on). So we finished getting our supplies and picked the bed up.

Once we arrived at the house, it set in, I had to unload everything by myself. There is only one thing to say about that....... thank God twin beds don't weigh too much. Once we got everything inside, the real excitement started. Jason and I chose to assemble the bed first. Everything went really smoothly until we attempted to assemble the side rail (that we bought separately). We needed a screw driver for this project. For those of you that recall one of my previous blogs............ Jason + screwdriver = DANGER!!!!!! I started to lay out all of the parts and didn't notice that Jason had grabbed the screwdriver and was coming toward me. I understand that he thinks I have a loose screw, but lord almighty that hurt when he stabbed me in the side. After recovering the weapon and starting work on the rail I came to the harsh realization that that rail was not going to fit the bed. It was just a minor set back. What do you do when something doesn't fit........ Make It!!!!! What do you use........ Duct Tape!!!!!! Needless to say, it worked out perfectly and looks like it was made for the bed.

Always wear protection on your head when working..... hence the wicker hard hat.

By the time I finished that project Colin had arrived, home from work. After a quick dinner break, we went on to finish the final project for his room.................closet doors. With terrible instructions, even worse drawings, the only way to explain this project was improvise. Using what little information Colin got from the instructions he conquered the closet doors. Though they were put up a few times before it finally worked. Thank goodness that is finished. I think Colin would have went completely gray if it hadn't of.

Hard at work.

In the end we were left with one very dirty room. So, it was clean up time. With Jason this means that it is on........... He feels the need to try to dirty a room as fast as you try to clean. A very fun game for him, but in true mom fashion, I won..................

A little reading time, thanks for the book Maggie!!!

After getting everything picked up it was time to try out the bed with a short reading session with Dad. Jason was super excited and couldn't stop smiling. But the real question is.... How did he sleep? Well, this morning at 7 am (he usually gets up at 5 or 5:30) we realized that his crib mattress on the floor must have been extra uncomfortable because he was still sleeping. He finally woke up at 7:15. Thank You Denver Mattress for the comfy bed. It helps us sleep much better.

Good friends

Dan, Brady, and Maddie............. Moe wants to be a part of their family, but she is stuck with us.
Last night we were delighted that the Dalens could make it over for a visit. Dan rolled in with Maddie and Brady one last time before they have to make their way back to Wisconsin for the school year. I can't believe the summer is already coming to an end.

Brady and Maddie with Jason.
Jason showed off his dancing skills for all of us last night, that is if he wasn't chasing one of the Dalens around. I feel bad for Maddie and Brady though, they didn't just have Jason hanging off of them, but the dogs too. You see...... when the kids come over not only does Jason get excited, but the dogs do too. Our house becomes a wild animal cage and poor Brady and Maddie are stuck in the middle of it. When they first walked in the door, Jason was so excited that he ran up to Maddie just to show her is muscle. What a crazy kid...... already flirting with all of the ladies. That was just the tip of the iceberg too. He chased Brady around for most of the night. He already wants to be a big kid and Brady is so cool, therefore, Brady didn't get a break.

Maddie and Moe.
The evening was a success and we will miss Brady and Maddie very much........ But, we look forward to next year, even though they both will probably have outgrown me. It is a bummer being short.

Brady and Jason living the good life......Peace......

Dentist and Golf

It is almost worse to anticipate a trip to the dentist than it is to actually go. As I played with Jason in the reception area I could hear the crew hard at work on Colin's mouth. The sounds are terrible and made me cringe. Jason passed the time by doing belly flops on the floor. He just didn't seem to be intimidated by the strange place and the sounds. I was freaking out..........

We hadn't been to the dentist in years so I was expecting the worst. Jason had never been in a dentist office either, so I thought it was going to be a true rodeo. He wasn't going to have a checkup, but he did have to watch us get worked on. Overall, it was a success. The dentist, yes the man with the degree and all of the training held Jason while I got my x-rays and Colin was getting his teeth cleaned. Jason put up quite a fight, kicking and screaming in the poor mans face, but all was well. All of us were shocked to see the professional in the office babysitting, but it worked out for the best. Once the x-rays were finished, Jason sat on my lap brushing his teeth while my teeth were cleaned. If you can't picture this here goes....... I am tilted so far that my head is a good 6 inches lower than my butt and Jason is sitting on my stomach. Seeing the hygenist pick at my mouth was overly tempting for Jason so on occasion he attempted to assist by puting his toothbrush in my mouth. It was soooooooooo much fun. You might be wondering where Colin was during this......... well, he had a little more done on his mouth than I did and his visit was much more uncomfortable than mine. It just wouldn't have been fare to have him hold Jason too.

Most people that haven't been to the dentist in 7 or more years most likely would expect to have cavities if not more. Well.............. Lucky us!!! No cavities. But, all of these years I have believed that I have no wisdom teeth. Well, the harsh reality is that I have two..... Two!!! Not only are they there, but horizontal and buried in my gums. So, I guess I will have to go in for a quick oral surgery before I will be cleared by the dentist.............. don't know when I will do that though. I learned that it isn't good to wait that long to go to the dentist though. It would be much easier to go on a regular basis. Even though we waited too long between visits, everything turned out for the best and Jason did so well that I will be bragging about yesterdays visit for a long time to come.

After returning home Jason and I decided that there isn't really a better activity to top off a rough morning of getting picked at than swinging a club. Jason has been working on his golf swing as you can see in the video. We prefer him swinging at the ball instead of us or the dogs though. I think I might need to take lessons from our new expert. He does like to tell everyone how to hold a club. I will try to get that on video sometime so that everyone can enjoy it. I hope all of you are having an excellent week. Take care and I will have more stories for you very soon.
