This morning began like any other.... we sat down for breakfast and talked about our dreams and what we want to do during the day. Jason is always full of great stories. Every morning he talks about his dinosaur dreams. Most of his dreams are the same. The only thing that changes on a daily basis is the color of the the dinosaur and the size. In his dreams the dinosaurs always play and make loud noises. While we discuss Jason's dino dreams, Jake feeds the dogs a good portion of his breakfast (the dogs love the fact that we have kids for this very reason) and jabbers in his own language about his dreams (that is what we assume since he copies everything else Jason does).
After breakfast we get dressed, this must be after breakfast since Jake gets so messy when he eats. Jason has started to pick out his own clothes so his combinations can get quite interesting. While Jason gets dressed and I get Jacobs clothes out, Jake eats Jason's socks..... this is a moment of drama every morning. Jason has a breakdown and Jake laughs. It will be sad when this little tradition is eliminated from our routine.
If it is warm we go outside after we are dressed, but this morning we weren't so lucky. It was quite cold so we went into the living room to play and wait for the sun to warm everything up. Now this is where the kisses thing comes into play. It is unavoidable, when we start to play one of the boys will get hurt. This usually involves some sort of bump to the head. On average, every other day there is blood. The blood comes from an injured lip most of the time, but there is the occasional scratch. This morning Jason was playing with Mae and they got a little too wild. Mae ran into the dining room and as Jason was chasing her he tripped on a dog toy and hit his head on the fireplace. This resulted in a lot of crying, that is until the "Magic Kiss" came along. I kissed the huge knot on his head and it was like an instant cure. The bump is still there, but the crying stopped and the tears and the sad face was gone. Even when one of the boys has blood dripping out of their mouth due to a tooth gouging their lip, a kiss can cure it all.
This is just the beginning of the day and we have already had one injury that needed to be cured... I am sure there will be many more by the time Colin gets off of work. It is a good thing there is endless supply of "Magic Kisses" here. Only if we could bottle them for those times when mama isn't around.
I hope all of you are having a wonderful week. Take care.......... Now back to playing.

Dream home
After all of the ups and downs of trying to buy the house that we live in we decided that renting was going to be our only option..... Just when we stopped looking we found a house. The house is just around the corner from where we are renting and has everything we ever wanted in a home. The house has 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths and is all updated. To top it off we will now have a very large garage. We will close on May 20th and there shouldn't be any hitches in the deal.
The boys are doing very well too. Jake walked from the couch to the fireplace today... it is a long walk for a little baby. Jason is doing amazingly well with the potty training too. He is turning into quite the big boy. I will try to post video this week of both of the boys... I hope all of you are doing well. Take care of yourself Maggie and heal up. We are thinking of you. Talk to all of of you soon.......

Super
I just wanted to stop by and mention that there is nothing better than dressing up like a super hero with my boys and saving the dogs from the evil in the world. Moe might not like it, but she puts up with us. Just picture the three of us with blankets for capes (yes, Jake even has to have one). Also... GOOD LUCK MAGGIE!!! Now to save the dogs yet again...... UP! UP! and AWAY!!!!

Random
There are two quick points I want to mention today.....
1. GO POKES!!!
2. (A short poem that I made up and goes through my mind every time I change a dirty diaper.)
The House of Stink
If you live in the house of stink;
it really makes you want to think.
When dinner goes in......
who will really win
living in the house of stink.

Weather Surprise
Here are some long awaited pictures. Last week we were busy enjoying the outdoors again. Sunday we even barbecued and lit our fire pit. At two am Monday morning I got up with Jake and noticed we had a lot of snow on the ground. That put a damper on our park fun for this week, but I hear that it is supposed to warm up by next week. I sure hope the forecast is correct. I don't want it too hot, but the mid 60's is perfect for the boys and me to be outside all day long. Things are going well here as usual. The time change was so good for our little fam. Jake and Jason go to bed at a good time and sleep until 6 or 7. We have had more sleep in the last week than we ever have.... LOVE IT!!! I hope everyone is doing well. Have a great rest of the week and I will have more pictures soon....... It is hard to take the time to post when the weather is nice, but I will make sure to do it at least once a week.
Colin blowing his candles out... the cheesecake was so good. Moe thinks she is going to get lucky.
Grandpa Scott and Jacob playing dinosaurs.
Jason loving up on Grandpa.

Funny, Goofy, Goober Men
Last weekend we had a great time celebrating Colin's birthday. Friday night I roasted a chicken and made some lemon bars since that is one of his favorite deserts. Saturday was beautiful so we spent our day going for walks and playing. It was a blast. Sunday was the family party day. Colin's parents, my parents, and my grandpa all made it for the festivities. I made a cheesecake and enough tacos to feed an army. There is nothing better than good company and good food.
After the weekend of fun Colin went back to work and the boys and I took on the task of trimming the hedges. This is much more difficult than it sounds. It didn't help that they haven't been trimmed in years. 5 hours in.... we were tired. Thank goodness the weather was beautiful. Although we didn't finish all of the hedges yet, we are on a break from the project. The weather has been too nice not to take advantage of it. We have spent hours at the park every day. I just load the kids into the wagon, hook the dogs to their leashes and we are off. I don't even get that good of exercise at the gym.
As I mentioned we have been spending a lot of time outdoors and I think it finally caught up with the boys yesterday. After spending 4.5 hours at the park we came home to eat lunch. Jason was sooooooooo hungry (those were his words) so I gave him a peanut butter and honey sandwich. He started out eating it very fast. I turned my head to make myself one and when I looked back, his face was deep in his plate. He was actually snoring with honey and peanut butter stuck to the side of his face and his glasses. I cleaned his face up and he didn't even stir. Then I layed him in the chair while I ate. 15 minutes later he woke up and asked... Did I finish my sandwich? He was just sure that he had eaten the sandwich and didn't remember. Now that was a tired kid.
Jacob is truly a wild man. He is taking 2 or 3 steps on a regular basis now. One thing that he can't get enough of is playing cars. He spins in circles making engine noises as fast as he can until he falls over from dizziness. Jake has also mastered making dinosaur noises. He picks up a dinosaur, chases the dogs and growls. It is a sight to behold.
I would post pics if I could get them to upload. I will try again tomorrow. I hope all of you are enjoying your week. Take care and I will get those pictures up as soon as possible.
